I sometimes wonder — in fact, I often wonder — why we don’t take a guy look Goodwin, who seems to be struggling with technique and the finer politest of playing OT, and make him a DT. With that size, you would think he would be a disruptive force on the DL by shear strength alone.

But then, I have never coached football, somI am sure there must be a good reason not to do that.

It has been said, that the body proportions to excel at one are different from the other. It is also the case that both positions require plenty of technique to succeed at the SEC level and if work habits or interest isn't there to learn the one then the same problem presents.

On his high school film, he didn't seem to be quick-footed enough to move laterally, I don't know that moving to DL solves that...

Then, I have never coached either.

I will say my oldest child is as big as a house for his age and in his first year playing tackle football he wasn't quick enough to play on either line so they hid him at the middle LB where he could just sort of stand there in a gap and clog it up. He is also soft as Charmin and as uncoordinated a human being as has ever walked the earth. But we love him the way he loves Minecraft...

For old people not in the know, Minecraft is the dorkiest of all dork video games that has taken elementary school by storm.
      Aspirational...

Rest assured. He will soon graduate to Fortnite. Minecraft with more weapons best I can tell. Both look like elaborate lego worlds to me. They have no idea how much better PacMan was.
