  • WVU OL transfer Dylan Ray commits to Kentucky

How about some added depth to the Big Blue Wall to get your Saturday rolling? Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football staff found it in West Virginia transfer Dylan Ray, who announced his commitment to the Wildcats late this morning.

“First off I want to thank West Virginia University, Coach Joseph and Coach Moore for everything they have done for me throughout the past 2 years,” Ray said. “With that being said I am happy to announce my commitment to University of Kentucky!”

Good news for sure, but he's a little light for SEC play. Needs about 25 pounds of muscle.

Sorry to say, but this may be a recurring theme from me. I will grant that the kid may have a very nice upside given his youth and what spending some time in the weight room and in a new environment could do for him. But TODAY, in terms of providing immediate depth, is he as good as the two tackles we lost to the portal? From what I am reading, I think probably not.

What difference does it make? In this era, when guys want to go, they want to go.

We need bodies and those who want to be here.

I can't speak for SBCatMan, but I think we all try to gauge change in the roster as we quickly head toward fall. The offensive line is a big question mark and we're just trying to grasp the net change for that unit coming out of free agency...I mean the transfer portal.

I took it to be a form vague criticism that somehow we have failed to replace what was lost.

Whether we did or we didn’t come out better in the ebb and flow it isn’t like there is much we can do to stop those who want greener pastures where they can play.

Based on what little I saw him play, last season, I don't think we lost much when Wohlabaugh left.

This is getting to be a strange game. Recruit kids but keep looking to replace them in a year instead of four.
                    free agency here we are.
It does counterbalance some the coaches that promise families they will take care of their sons then leave before snap one.

It's my understanding that he will be a preferred walk-on, not on scholarship. So, he wasn't recruited to be of immediate assistance TODAY. UK can still take a OL if they can find one.
