Woo Spencer is announcing at 6:30. I'm afraid he's headed to UofL.

If you look at the threads here, on 12/09/22 I pointed out that Gilbert had NOT signed with Purdue. That left a glimmer of hope for us which came to fruition today.
As for Spencer, I hope we get him. I really do, and I will welcome him enthusiastically. But, I think Gilbert was the really BIG fish for us out there today. Spencer would just be icing on the cake.
I was over on Twitter this morning and you'd think the Cards had just won the NC. Their fans are absolutely giddy. They're predicting this is the end of the Big Dog's reign in Louisville and, probably, the state as well.

Saying this is the end of The Big Dog’s reign is certainly a bit of an overstatement, but we are kidding ourselves if we do not think his job will become a bit tougher. Brohm will recruit the city of Louisville better than his predecessors did and he will eventually win in that conference. But, the Big Dog is not going away.
Just one last word on Gilbert. He comes from Indianapolis Cathedral HS. Being from Indiana, I can tell you that is a GREAT school and a GREAT program. He will come in well-coached, well-disciplined and smart.
I saw where Aba Selm (class of '24) has committed to us. The Big Dog is alive and well.

Recruiting Louisville will be more difficult going forward, especially when Brohm turns them around. But I don't think UL will "own" UL recruiting. In the future, the money flowing into UK vs UL is going to pull us way ahead.
