  • Michael Avenatti (Stormy Daniels' Lawyer) Says College Basketball About to be Rocked

Kind of a wild story that just hit the news wires.

Michael Avenatti, who was in the news for a long time during the Trump scandal, sent out word this morning that he and his team have uncovered a major scandal involving Nike and the "biggest names in college basketball."

Avenatti is a crazy man but I'm really not sure what he's been working on or what sort of group he could have assembled to tackle Nike.

Is always a little worrisome when you hear the words "Nike" and "biggest names in college basketball". Please oh please let it be Coach K and Duke!

The Southern District of New York just charged Avenatti with trying to extort Nike for $20 million.

Avenatti shoulda stuck to taking down Trump. Going after competent people is a different world.
When he was a kid Lord, he never imagined all the ways that the city could bring a country boy down.

Apparently he tried to get Nike to pay his client $1.5 million and then force Nike to hire him to conduct an internal investigation for between $15-$25 million dollars.

            Nike's not around.

Sounds like Nike decided the bad publicity would be cheaper.

Avenatti = most hated man in America?

                Has to be up there.

It's hard to find somebody without a tribe these days. You can be a grown man who watches My Little Pony but also is a fan of M.A.S.H. and you'd probably find you a forum online.

                Avenatti is despised by everyone.

Ken White of Popehat.com (a defense attorney who blogs about first amendment issues among other things) has a funny story of Avenatti calling him up and just berating him, telling him he's irrelevant, nobody knows who he is, just all these nasty things. It's amusing.

This is a riveting (and absurd) story. Could Michael Avenatti be more of a walking cliche?
