  • Replacing Jai Lucas

Any ideas as to who we might hire to replace Jai Lucas? I’d love someone who could help us continue to recruit strongly in Texas.

All I know is it better not be one of Cal's buddies lol. A guy like Coen did wonders for the football team. No reason that couldn't be replicated for basketball. Except that Cal's ego most likely won't allow it.

Seems like it's harder to bring a coach down from the NBA than it is in football?

I may be way off on that because I don't know much about football. But NBA assistants generally don't jump down to college basketball. Seems like the NBA is a very closed system where guys jump around job to job until they end up as a scout or front office type.

Not necessarily bring someone from the NBA but just someone younger with an offensive mind. It's a moot point anyways because that's not going to happen.

It probably wouldn't matter anyway. I don't think Cal is going to given the reins of the off. to an asst.

Not at all. Even if he did, the first game it blows up in our faces will be the last you see of it lol. It would be record timing for a "tweak".

From where we watch, Cal's assistant coaches have a unique position. Their in put stops with the tip.

Most everything about the basketball program is strangely quiet.

Cal is keeping a low profile as he gets ready for the Green room on draft night with Sharpe and Washington.

I was just thinking this the other day. I can't recall a time when there was this little discussion on this board and just overall with the program, feels weird.

This is simply speculation on my part, but I have a hard time seeing Calipari coaching here past next season.

Super quiet in a way that makes a person want to start speculating about what might be going on.

Cal's probably on a road trip riding his Vespa along the New England coast.

McGruff and Palmer are probably micturating on voodoo dolls of Basketball Benny, Bob from Hazard, and Chester the KSR caller (I think he's from Paintsville?) .

Mrs. Calipari's checking out Nashville area real estate.
