That second half was genuinely fun. After a first half in which we looked outmanned at at least 4 of 5 positions.

Toppin - Oscar - Livingston shouldn't play together.
Cal refuses to play Livingston at the 4, which, well... stubborn.
I think in order for this team to play well & keep moving forward - you have to play the following the most ---- Wallace, CJ, Reeves, Oscar, Livingston, Toppin. Fill in some minutes here there for Ware, Onyenso, & Theiro. Wheeler can sit but if you have to play him, stick it to no more than 8-10 minutes.

Oscar looked like Shaq tonight.Reeves seems to be gaining in confidence. We need his offense and je has provided it 3 games in a row. Toppin still rushing shots but his work on glass and effort was great. Wallace had his best game overall as a Cat tonight IMO, looked co.fortable at point in second half. Only negative is the once again slow start if they can figure out how to start games not digging a hole for themselves they could make the tourney and maybe surprise some folks when they get there

What a nice performance last night, right?? Getting up at 4 am makes the late games tough to watch, but when you can get a second half like that one it's completely worth it.
I still think Wheeler has a lot to give this team and we'll see a bounce back. He's too good to be this bad.
It's cliche but I think in Oscar's case it's true: when he "wants it", he's nigh unstoppable.
My son and I love Toppin because he was one of the most fun to be around at the camp last summer. I know he's up and (way) down, but he's so fun to watch when he just lets his athleticism cut loose. He doesn't have to be Bahamas Toppin all the time. Myrtle Beach Toppin (a nice enough vacation spot, but no one would say it's the Bahamas) will probably be just fine for this team.

Also Oscar was superhuman last year and glossed over everybody's mistakes.
The Oscar we got last night was the one I think we all were going to get this season, or close to. It's so easy for everybody else when he plays like that. Last year you could just rush the ball up with Grady and TyTy flying, look for a quick shot, and then pound it down into Oscar. Easy basketball. This team is way more complicated and they basically have to build their identity on defense. Only way to do that is with Wallace as the ball-stopper up there.
Wallace might be the best freshman defender Cal has had with the exception of Anthony Davis.
