So here comes yet another Biggest Game of the Year (TM) for Kentucky. This one is especially huge, because it can both cement the fact that Kentucky has shaken off the early-season funkiness while also positioning them squarely off the bubble and in the NCAA Tournament. Win this one and we'll be talking about our seeding on Monday.
Kansas has lost four in a row, which may sound like a blessing but then you look at the four teams they lost to and realize they're all in the top 25. They also surely remember the pounding Kentucky put on them last year in the Phog, a game that was probably the pinnacle of last year's Kentucky team.
This Kansas team plays a strange, mostly five-out style as they try and spread everybody to the wings and drive you or shoot transition threes. Everybody thought they would be down this year but the emergence of Jalen Wilson has been big for them, as has the play of freshman Gradey Dick. Dick is a tremendous athlete and he plays super hard. He'll be a very tough match-up for Fredrick or Reeves because he's bigger and he really hits the glass. This is a game where you'd like to have Chris Livingston playing like he did against UCLA because he could be a key.
The game is at 8:00 on ESPN.
