If you ask Providence standout Bryce Hopkins, his pitstop in Lexington as a Kentucky Wildcat should have never happened at all.

There were rumors that the Hopkins was family wasn't happy pretty early last season.

I'm sure what he's saying here is correct as far as the things Cal said...but that team was vying for number one in America for part of the season. Not sure who he would've played over. You can definitely argue that he should've played more, but you have to wonder if it would've ever satisfied them.

This year he could play over most anybody on this team, but like most freshmen in the history of the game I wish he would've given it a little patience. It definitely worked out for him though.

Also Ed Cooley does seem like a heck of a coach.

I read this yesterday, said he basically felt like a robot with no freedom under the microscope always looking over his shoulder on the court.....

If he would've played more, Cal would've had had to play him at the 4, and as we've seen with Livingston, pigs will fly first.

Cal is really stubborn, and he will play "his guys" unless his hand is forced. Matt Jones made a good point yesterday that Cal makes his mind up about guys early, and if he tags you as "goofy," you're fighting against the current all year.

Hopkins is averaging 20.3 ppg and 10.4rpg in his team's quad 1 games.

Obviously his team is leaning on him a bit, but still pretty remarkable. I knew that kid a big time game
