  • Sahvir Wheeler Has "Minor Procedure," Remains Out

This is per Cal on Twitter. Says the procedure has nothing to do with his ankle injury.

Was just about to post this statement from Coach Cal..

Sahvir had a minor procedure unrelated to his ankle injury this morning and will be out for a bit. Because he’s recovering today, he will not be part of tonight’s Senior Day ceremony.
I hate that he won’t be able to hear #BBN show him how much we all love him on Senior Day tonight. Looking forward to getting him back on the court with us soon!

I get everything has to stay in house closed off from the media but i doubt Wheeler ever plays another minute for Kentucky...

I’d bet a strong stack of cash that this is nothing more than Cal’s way of hiding Wheeler’s decision to sit the rest of the season.

Seems like if this were the case then they'd just keep going with the ankle. Not sure why they need to manufacture another plot twist if the end goal is just him sitting.

Because the ankle excuse loses more credibility by the day.

Even if there was an additional procedure, why today? Why not wait until after Senior Night? That’s the most suspicious part.

So who plays backup Point, can Thiero handle it if called upon? We don't need a PG to drive get to the rim just someone who can control the ball and get it moving...

                      Vanderbilt ended up playing though.

The only reason I can see them manufacturing a reason to be out senior night is that they didn't want to have him booed by fans or something.

I agree 100% Just another unsolved mystery. Maybe a procedure to repair his hurt feelings 😊

Thiero has looked really bad as the backup PG but continues to look really good when he's just out there doing little things.

It's an issue--maybe not tonight but it will be. Auburn didn't do this because they were so hapless but teams have started to press Kentucky. In the two games previous to Auburn we didn't look good against it. Wallace having to play that many minutes against intense pressure is something I wish we didn't have to do in the postseason. Even if Wheeler just comes in to give you a change of pace he might be able to help in certain games.

Or he’s going to have his senior night at another school next season.

Dude has quit and this is Cal's typical way of covering it up and protecting the kid similar to Hagans. Good Riddance. FINALLY this experiment is over.
