Sahvir Wheeler Has "Minor Procedure," Remains Out

Thiero has looked really bad as the backup PG but continues to look really good when he's just out there doing little things.

It's an issue--maybe not tonight but it will be. Auburn didn't do this because they were so hapless but teams have started to press Kentucky. In the two games previous to Auburn we didn't look good against it. Wallace having to play that many minutes against intense pressure is something I wish we didn't have to do in the postseason. Even if Wheeler just comes in to give you a change of pace he might be able to help in certain games.

* Agree - I don't think Theiro is a natural PG. Two things here - I would try to get the ball in Reeves hands a little more here and there, he's very shifty with the ball in his hands. AND - I think they can use Toppin more with bringing the ball up. He actually does a very nice job at this.

Exactly! I would guess he can't go through Senior Night because he has quit the team and for some reason Cal doesn't want it made public. I would guess he won't be at Arkansas, or Nashville.

The only reason I can see them manufacturing a reason to be out senior night is that they didn't want to have him booed by fans or something.

Never thought about that and yes your are right, some fans on 5 o'clock somewhere may not be as cordial as others....

I’d bet a strong stack of cash that this is nothing more than Cal’s way of hiding Wheeler’s decision to sit the rest of the season.

And it has been insinuated that this is UK protecting him from boos on his senior day. Which is the biggest bunch of nonsense I've ever heard. But it wouldn't surprise me with the drama that seems to be constantly manufactured by Cal these days.

Sahvir had a minor procedure unrelated to his ankle injury this morning and will be out for a bit. Because he’s recovering today, he will not be part of tonight’s Senior Day ceremony.
I hate that he won’t be able to hear #BBN show him how much we all love him on Senior Day tonight. Looking forward to getting him back on the court with us soon!

That second to last sentence is Cal trolling the fans. He did it after the game on Saturday pointing out how supportive the fans have been of this team. Cal is mocking us and many either aren't realizing or are ignoring it.

I saw some of that, too. A few folks seem to believe the fan base is classless enough to boo the kid during a senior night ceremony because some fans booed during very disappointing games.

Do I think he would've been booed on senior night? No. But I bet a few would leak through. It only takes a few.

Same here. I will say that Vanderbilt has actually turned out to be a pretty good next level player, i was unsure about his ability to shoot etc. but so far having a pretty solid NBA career...

I saw Wheeler on bench at Arky game, why would Cal let him do that if he has quit team, something doesn't add up here
