  • Selection Sunday Thread

Most experts have Kentucky as a 6 or 7, but the more interesting thing about the draw will be our opponent, because as we all know by this point this Kentucky team is as reliant on getting a good match-up as any UK team I can remember. Also of note is whether Kentucky can get the South region, which goes through Louisville.

Like most of you I expect almost nothing from Kentucky in the tournament, but it's always a fun time of year regardless.

The Selection Show is at 6:00 this evening.

Sadly one and done has a new meaning with UK basketball. Hope they surprise me in a good way. I agree the opponent will be critical in our success or failure.

Per Bracket Matrix, UK is likely a 6/7 seed. Here’s how I see the possible 10/11 seed matchups:

      Good for UK
      Rutgers
      Arizona St
      Boise St

      Bad for UK
      Utah St
      Penn St
      NC State
      Providence
      Pittsburgh

      Probably fine

If UK draws Providence I'm going to set the over/under for Bryce Hopkins' points at 35.

Also, North Carolina St. is interesting because they have a total behemoth at center. Guy weighs probably 300 pounds and is skilled. They also have a gun named Terquavion Smith who plays like Malik Monk.

Anyone believe we will end up possibly playing at Louisville?

Highly doubt we'll get there even if we're in the South, but I don't think they'll give us that region anyway. If we were a top 4 seed then yes. I think we might get the Garden (again, we'll never make it there).

Alabama should be the overall #1, IMO. Best team.

Meanwhile, watching Purdue play I don't see how Edey is ever stopped. At times he makes the game look easier than almost anybody I've ever seen play it in college.

I know it is not an ideal year. I know I should not be excited but I am. I love This week. SEED / Region / Opponent?

I say a 7 seed in the west. Not sure who the 10s will be. I am guessing we will get the highest 10 seed. Will be a tough game.

I'm putting a buck down on Kentucky as a 7 in the East playing Providence.

One buck and maybe some loose coins.

He went for 33/18 and 26/16 against IU. But lost both. IU gave the blueprint of how to take the Pistol Pete approach and not let the others beat you. May help some teams. Those whose coaches watch tape.

The real question is….can the ‘selection’ committee have UK in a 2nd round matchup with Iona? 1) UK probably won’t make it to 2nd round and 2) I don’t think the probable seeds will allow it.

Saw a bracket on twitter that had us playing Boise State in Sacramento

guessing this is just a speculation or a prediction

Have no fear, Cal's going to end generational poverty for the Walton Family.

Mary Ellen won't have to go to nursing school now, she'll own the hospital.

Wasn’t Sam Walton one of them? They’re doing Ok 🤣. Cal can claim he made Sam rich about as much as he did Anthony Davis.
