  • Skyy Clark Back in the Transfer Portal

After stepping away from his team back in January or so, Clark is now leaving Illinois. Including his transfers during high school, this will be his seventh or eighth new school.

When he did play for the Illini, his turnover rate was somewhere around 27%, and he might’ve rivaled Oscar as one of the worst defenders in the country.

Probably for the best that he never made it to Kentucky. The only real downside is had he announced his intentions to decommit a little sooner than he did, Kentucky probably would’ve landed Nick Smith, Jr. I know he’s had his own issues, but this team could use all the help it could get.

DVZ- Word-on-the-street is he's giving Ls down a look. IDK what it is about his camp but I'm glad he changed is mind about UK. It's one thing to attend 4 different high schools, verbally commit to UK your junior year and retract your senior, but it's another to leave your team in the middle of the season

Happy he is not a CAT. Not sure his issue but he is a problem for sure. Or his people are a problem.

The fact that he has people is his problem. He was mentioned yesterday as a possible UL transfer. I wonder how KP feels about coaching Skyy.

I think his problem might be that he's one of these guys who was a great player at 16 and never progressed. And either he or his people still think he's as good as he was on "the circuit."

Louisville had a similar player back in the day: Sebastian Telfair.

Never made it to Louisville, though. And then things went south of south.

The beauty of it all—Pitino chose Telfair. So Rondo chose UK. Then Telfair went pro instead. Very similar to some of some of Cal’s recruiting misses. But this one worked out for us. Instead of Duke.

I saw a game I think Eastern HS *where Rondo played) and Telfair's team from NY, at Louisville Gardens. I know both were there but they might not have played each other. Anyway, Rondo was so much better than Telfair.

I know you're being sarcastic, but there's something going on with young Mr. Clark. Perhaps, coach Payne can help him get his life straightened out.

Hopefully. I've made more than my share of mistakes, especially in my younger days, so I hate to see youth wasted.

I saw his Louisville "committed" pic and he cut his hair off; fresh start?
