Someone yesterday posted on Twitter that Bill Self’s teams now have something like eight or nine first-weekend exits in 19 seasons, while Cal’s only had two. Self has one more title, but Cal has been right there more than once, too — yet one is clearly more highly regarded as a coach than the other.

Also, despite the last couple years or so, Cal’s tourney record is easily the best among active coaches.

Obviously we'll never know, but I wonder if the Jayhawks would have won if coach Self had been coaching yesterday? If Ks. had lost badly, you could say probably not but a one pt. loss, he very well could have made the difference.

I’m sure Self would’ve been good for a few extra points. Still doesn’t detract from the overall point, though, as one game doesn’t change the reality of both coaches’ records.

I'm kind of surprised Cal hasn't had serious health issues. These coaches, at places like UK, Ks., Duke etc., are under tremendous pressure to begin with, plus some are older and probably don't take the best care of themselves. Also, Cal's love of donuts is no secret.

Where’ve you been??

Oh you know, just giving the wrong parts of life too much of my time mostly. But man yesterday was fun! I didn't go into the tournament with very high hopes. I thought losing ZZ so late in the season would doom us going forward. But we just got to keep rolling now. Love March so much lol.

Good luck today Cats. I don't know anything about Kansas St so might as well make it a trilogy. Just hope we come to play for it.

Same here, hate is a bad word but I hate Alabama as much as I do Tennessee.

If I watch any at all,may watch UCLA and Adam Morrison, that dude has a crafty game, not the most athletic but smart and fun to watch...
