Question for those of you who understand the game a lot more that I, why didn't Toppin drive on Hopkins after he picked up the second foul?
Yes, we were yelling the same thing in our living room.
Toppin had a really good game. So impressed with his passing skill. But he went a loooong time in that game where he wouldn't drive. He drove it well early, then just stopped. Not sure what the deal was.
As a rule Cal doesn't do a good job at reacting to and exploiting players in foul trouble. That's been the case since he's been here.

I agree with Will’s response but will also say that, although Jacob has come a long way, physical/aggressive/seeking contact type of play is just not his nature. He’d much rather shoot a fadeaway. I imagine the coaches have to remind him quite often how well he can drive when he’ll just do it. His speed and length make him very capable of getting step on his guy.
Also, Cal may have not been too concerned with getting Hopkins off the floor. He did little damage.
